 About Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is a 5-star international carrier and one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. Based in the State of Qatar, the airline operates one of the youngest fleets in the world. In addition to winning Skytrax’s prestigious Airline of the Year 2011 and 2012, Qatar Airways was named Best Airline in the Middle East for the seventh year in a row, and its Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport was named Best Premium Service Airport for the second consecutive year in 2012. Skytrax is the only global independent passenger survey monitoring airline standards and is considered the ultimate benchmark for excellence in the airline industry.

Since the beginning of 2012, Qatar Airways has launched flights to Baku (Azerbaijan); Tbilisi (Georgia); Kigali (Rwanda); Zagreb (Croatia), Erbil (Iraq), Baghdad (Iraq), Perth (Australia) and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania). Qatar Airways also provides the fastest available travel time between London and Manchester, and has one of the largest networks in Europe, covering 25 European destinations, including new additions like Budapest, Stuttgart, Venice, Oslo and Sofia.

Over the next few months, Qatar Airways will launch services to a diverse portfolio of new routes, including Yangon, Myanmar (October 3); Maputo, Mozambique (October 31); and Chicago, USA (April 10, 2013). Qatar Airways currently has orders worth over US$50 billion for more than 250 aircraft, including Boeing 787s, 777s, Airbus A350s, A380s and A320 Family of aircraft.

Qatar Airways currently operates daily non-stop flights from Melbourne and thrice-weekly flights from Perth (daily from December 2) to 118 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.

Premium Terminal for First & Business Class Passengers:

Exclusive to First and Business Class passengers flying from or transiting through Doha on Qatar Airways, the world’s first dedicated Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport offers special privileges and world-class amenities. These include fine dining, luxury leather seating to relax in comfort and unwind and freshen up with a shower. There is also a nursery and video games room to keep children occupied, while you enjoy the amenities with true peace of mind. Or if some shopping is on order, try browsing Qatar's Duty Free retail environment. For First Class passengers, escape to the quiet sanctuary of the premium spa*, relax with a soothing massage, or enjoy a sauna and Jacuzzi. Qatar Airways have taken In-Flight Entertainment to a whole new level with our interactive Oryx Entertainment System, which is accessed through an easy-to-use touchscreen (onboard our wide-body Boeing 777 and new narrow-body A320 aircraft) and intuitive navigation system in eight different languages. Oryx offers 1000 options to choose from. Over 150 movie features and 150 hours of programming in English, Arabic, and several other languages are also available for our multilingual audience. Adventure and nature documentaries, history features, and the latest Hollywood news are also on offer via a special tie-up with the National Geographic Channel, The History Channel and E! Entertainment.

 

Audio & video on demand

Qatar Airways travellers can also enjoy the Discover More Series – a selection of short video guides, which teach a variety of skills in sports, travel, cooking and more. Business travellers will appreciate the Soundview Executive Book Summaries, short outlines of business bestsellers, with key ideas and strategies discussed.

Both leisure and business travellers can learn the basics of more than 20 languages using the Berlitz Word Traveller course to make the most out of their trip.

Passengers can choose from a wide range of features, including 500 audio CDs, communications capabilities, interactive gaming, and even playlist creation using the latest music releases. For young travellers, we have specialised programming with top TV shows, videogames, and cartoons. Qatar Airways even provides children’s activity kits as well to keep the young minds busy during the journey.
