I never write reviews on hotels as there has never been one worth taking the time to do so! But I have to take the time out to write this one about the Aqualina Resort because they deserve all the praise in the world. In all our years of travel for business and leisure I have not met such incredible staff. Having pulled up to the front door in our red Chevrolet ( a rental) and seeing all the high end cars parked out front I had second thoughts. But upon our first few minutes we were greeted warmly and with sincerity..this continued throughout our 3 nights at the resort. From the beach boys who greeted us within 30 seconds of entering the beach, to the manager on duty - Rachelle, we were made to feel like valued guests...something many hotels have forgotten about. Not once when I asked for something did someone point, they actually walked me to the restroom, or to the pool or to the spa etc. etc. This is an incredible hotel not just for the incredible rooms or beach front property, it is incredible because the staff are attentive to all your needs. These days you feel ripped off going on vacation because no one seems to care anymore, the Acqualina is the ONLY hotel where I can say it is worth every penny because you will feel like you are vacation..not spending half of your time dealing with staff attitudes and the hotel's loose interpretation of what customer service really means. If you go even on one vacation this year in Florida, go the Acqualina!! All the reviews are not wrong! Close

While I stayed here over a year ago, I decided to write a review after staying at the Ritz South Beach and having a horrible experience. My mom and I went last July 2009 for a 5 day getaway to relax and be pampered...the Acqualina (which I found by chance through Amex Platinum) was AMAZING...not only are the rooms and grounds fabulous, but the Service is second to none. They truly are so wonderful and the attentiveness was truly great. The only negative on the hotel I remember was that we didn't have a ton of food options, but everything else about the hotel over compensated for that. This year, we made a huge mistake. We decided we wanted to try something different and have more dinner options, so we stayed at the Ritz South Beach..well, HUGE mistake. not only was it horrible, but all we kept thinking about was the Acqualina...how we wished we had gone back (and even thought about it)...When we drove by it on the way to the mall (which last summer, i did not realize how close it was to the acqualina)...we were so sad because we missed it. We actually keep saying that we are not sure anything will ever compare to the Acqualina (recognizing it is very expensive). If you are looking for a lot of nightlife options, this hotel (just due to the locale) is not for you, but if you want amazing service at a wonderful property, there is no where better. Close

My husband and I stayed at acqualina for 4 nights in early august. I have traveled frequently to bahamas and carribean but wanted an 'easy to get to' few nights away to a pretty beach. I debated between acqualina and the breakers in west palm. The hotel exceeded my expectations by far. It had the most well trained staff i've ever seen. The beach was beautiful, water crystal clear and calm, and food delicious. Great breakfast buffet (included in package) which did not at any point seem like the "free breakfast." Our room was the least expensive but really HUGE with the nicest bathroom, shower i've ever stayed. Really, the room was FABULOUS. Service better than the Ritz. I can't say enough nice things about our whole experience. Worth EVERY penny! Close

My family and I spent an amazing week at the hotel. I don't even know where to begin. The staff was the most attentive hotel staff that I had ever experienced Every employee said hello and after the first day day most knew us by name. They couldn't do enough for us in the 95 degree heat. Their utmost concern was that we totally enjoyed our stay. The facility is beautiful. Three stunning outdoor pools lead directly to a beautiful pristine beach. Beach toys for the kids were plentiful. Lounges and umbrellas were very comfortable. The hotel manages to provide 5 star service yet be kid friendly at the same time. The rooms were wonderful. Very upscale and comfortable. There were only four rooms on our floor, so we had a very intimate a cozy feel. Close

I stayed at the Acqualina for one week. It is a beautiful hotel and the service was superb. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from South Beach so it's not in the middle of all the action and it's really not the kind of place you would walk out the front door and wander around. But, you can walk straight out onto the gorgeous Sunny Isles Beach, with white sand, clear water and seats set up by the hotel staff. The three pools are also beautiful. This, for me, was a highlight. The hotel is also located near the Aventura shopping centre and several other cheaper shopping complexes. My room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. My only issue was that the two TVs were surprisingly small and a little difficult to see from each of the couch and the bed, but this was really no big deal in such a great room. The bed was incredibly comfortable. If you want to be able to take advantage of the $40 a day ESPA credit, make sure you book your appointments well in advance of your stay. If you are unable to make an appointment and are referred to another salon within the Acqualina, make sure you check whether the spa credit applies (it generally doesn't) and also check out the salon before making an appointment - they are not anywhere near the same standard as the ESPA. The staff were all helpful and highly responsive. Barbara the concierge was particularly helpful and patient in answering all of my questions. I had a fantastic stay at the Acqualina and highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sunny Isles. Close
