Classes of Travel
Royal First Class
On selected THAI Airway's flights between Bangkok and Europe or South Africa, Royal First Class treatment begins when travellers are met curb-side at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport and escorted to a luxurious lounge for effortless check-in. Onboard passengers will enjoy the comfort of electronically controlled sleeper seats which convert to a comfortable bed. Seats feature a 180° recline and 7 feet of space to stretch out. All Royal First Class seats are equipped with the latest in Audio-Video-On-Demand (AVOD) entertainment systems offering endless hours of entertainment. Inflight dining and premium bar service, including Dom Perignon on arrival, is a major highlight of the Royal First Class experience. The meals prepared by THAI's master chefs are suitable for any gourmet restaurant.
Royal Silk Class
For those who travel frequently, THAI's Royal Silk Class or Business Class is an outstanding option. Seats on Boeing 747-400 and A340-500/600 aircraft feature a bed length of 76", seat pitch of 60" and 167° recline. On THAI's Boeing 777-200ER/300 aircraft (serving Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne) seats feature a bed length of 70", pitch of 61" and 163° of recline. Meals are served restaurant style with choices in every course and premium bar service. AVOD is available on THAI Royal Silk Class, offering a fantastic selection of entertainment. Royal Silk Class is not available on all aircraft types and routings.
Premium Economy Class
Premium Economy on THAI Airways USA and Scandinavian routes was introduced with the aim of bridging the gap between Economy and Business Class. On THAI's A340-500 operating on USA routes, the seats are wider and longer with a 42" pitch for extra leg room and 122° angle of recline. On Scandinavian routes seats have a seat pitch of 49" and 133° angle of recline.
With a generous seat pitch of 32-34" for extra legroom and extra width, THAI Airways ensure maximum comfort for passengers. Meals in Economy Class on THAI surpass those offered in the Business Class cabins of many other carriers. AVOD is available on B777-200ER/300 and A340-500/600 aircraft and offers hundreds of entertainment options (hit movies, classic oldies, popular TV programs, documentaries and a music library).
THAI has taken advantage of the very latest technological advances in this field to install a state-of-the-art Audio Visual On Demand inflight entertainment system on its newest jetliners and retrofit the new system on many of its existing long-haul fleet. THAI’s new interactive AVOD system offers literally hundreds of options. With larger screens and touch-control commands, passengers can choose between many of the latest multi-lingual hit movies, classic oldies and popular TV programmes.
